Up The Irons – A Legacy of Maiden Passion

Formed in 1999 in Tilburg, the Netherlands, Up The Irons has spent over two and a half decades forging a global reputation as one of the most electrifying Iron Maiden tribute bands in existence. Fueled by sheer devotion and armed with a blistering live show, the band channels the spirit, sound, and intensity of the original British heavy metal legends with astonishing precision.

But Up The Irons is far more than just a tribute. It’s a celebration of Iron Maiden’s music through the eyes of five seasoned musicians who are lifelong fans themselves. Their shows are a powerful mix of Maiden’s greatest hits and hidden gems, performed with an authenticity and energy that ignites both casual rock fans and die-hard Maidenheads alike.

From small venues to massive festival crowds, Up The Irons delivers. The band has graced stages across Europe, including standout performances at Graspop Metal Meeting in 2004, 2006, and 2015 , rocking crowds of 250 up to 25.000 and toured extensively in Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, the UK, and beyond.

Their connection to the Maiden legacy runs deep:

  • Twice they toured with original Iron Maiden frontman Paul Di’Anno as special guest.

  • Dennis Stratton, original Iron Maiden guitarist, has performed full shows with the band since 2016.

  • They were supported by the Lauren Harris Band, fronted by the daughter of Maiden bassist Steve Harris.

  • And in 2006, Steve Harris himself attended one of their Dutch shows, praising their performance.

As a nod of mutual respect, the band has even been invited several times to join Steve Harris’ football matches when Maiden was touring the Netherlands. Whether headlining Iron Maiden Fan Club conventions or setting fire to festival stages, Up The Irons continues to honor the legacy of Iron Maiden.

In 2026, Up The Irons will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Iron Maiden’s legendary album Somewhere in Time with a special tour titled Somewhere on Tour. This exclusive show will feature the entire album performed live in full from the soaring opener Caught Somewhere in Time to the epic closer Alexander the Great. Naturally, the setlist will also include a selection of classic Maiden anthems. A true tribute to a milestone record and an unforgettable experience for fans of the golden age of heavy metal.
